Bangladesh must embrace sustainability and innovation to be an inclusive developed nation by 2041. One of the most important agendas of the government of Bangladesh is to attain SDG goals by 2030. In the process, brands must play an instrumental role in achieving the SDG goals for the nation.
The SDG Brand Champion Awards is a distinguished recognition program that serves to acknowledge and celebrate the outstanding contributions made by the brands towards the attainment of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in Bangladesh.
This esteemed award initiative is designed to honor and showcase the innovative and effective practices and initiatives undertaken by businesses, non-governmental organizations, development organizations, trade bodies, and brands that have contributed towards the promotion & implementation of sustainable development goals in the country.
The SDG Brand Champion Awards stands as a testament to the exceptional contributions of organizations/brands that have committed themselves to the advancement of the SDGs, and serve to inspire and encourage others to follow in their footsteps.
The SDG Brand Champion in Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure category recognizes brands that have demonstrated exceptional leadership and commitment towards advancing Sustainable Development Goal (SDG-9): Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure. This category includes innovation in developing or implementing sustainable business practices, products or services that support sustainable industrialization and infrastructure development. It will have integrated sustainability into its operations, resulting in reduced environmental impact and increased social and economic benefits for the communities it operates in.
The SDG Brand Champion in “Sustainable Community" category recognizes brands that have shown exceptional leadership and impact in creating and promoting sustainable communities that prioritize the following SDGs: No Poverty (SDG 1), Zero Hunger (SDG 2), Good Health and Well-being (SDG 3), Quality Education (SDG 4), and Sustainable Cities and Communities (SDG 11). This category seeks to recognize the brand that has demonstrated innovative and effective approaches to building sustainable communities that address multiple SDGs. The awardees in this category have to show a deep commitment to creating sustainable communities that are resilient, vibrant, and capable of adapting to changing circumstances. They must demonstrate a holistic approach to sustainability, balancing economic, social, and environmental considerations, and have made a significant positive impact on the quality of life of the community members.
This category acknowledges brands that have made significant contributions towards innovation in developing or implementing sustainable practices, products or services that promote responsible consumption and production patterns (SDG 12).
This category recognizes brands that have made significant contributions towards achieving Affordable and Clean Energy - ensuring access to affordable, reliable, sustainable, and modern energy for all (SDG 7). Nominees for this award may have created innovative solutions to address energy poverty, implemented sustainable energy practices, or invested in initiatives that promote the use of clean energy sources.
This award category acknowledges brands that have leveraged their brand to make a positive impact on promoting gender equality and empowering women and girls (SDG 5). Nominees for the SDG Brand Champion in the Gender Equality category will be evaluated based on their efforts to eliminate gender-based discrimination, promote equal opportunities for all genders, and support women's economic empowerment. The brand should have implemented initiatives or programs that have contributed to promoting gender equality, such as implementing policies to ensure pay equity, promoting women's leadership and representation in all levels of the organization, and addressing gender-based violence and harassment in the workplace. The nominee should have a clear and measurable impact on the lives of women and girls, and they should demonstrate a long-term commitment to promoting gender equality.
This category acknowledges brands that have leveraged their brand to make a positive impact on promoting sustained, inclusive, and sustainable economic growth, full and productive employment, and decent work for all (SDG 8). Nominees for this category may have implemented inclusive business practices, invested in decent work opportunities, or created innovative solutions that promote economic growth in a sustainable and equitable manner.
The SDG Brand Champion in “Climate and Environment" category recognizes brands that have shown exceptional leadership and impact in promoting sustainable development by addressing the following SDGs: Clean Water and Sanitation (SDG 6), Climate Action (SDG 13), Life Below Water (SDG 14), and Life on Land (SDG 15). This category focuses on efforts that prioritize environmental sustainability, biodiversity conservation, and climate action. It recognizes brands that have demonstrated innovative and effective approaches in addressing the root causes of climate change, conserving natural resources, and promoting biodiversity. The awardees in this category have to show a deep commitment to promoting sustainable development by addressing the critical environmental challenges facing the world today. They have to demonstrate a holistic approach to sustainability, balancing economic, social, and environmental considerations and have made a significant positive impact on the health and well-being of the planet and its inhabitants.
This category recognizes brands that have made significant contributions towards achieving Affordable and Clean Energy - ensuring access to affordable, reliable, sustainable, and modern energy for all (SDG 7). Nominees for this award may have created innovative solutions to address energy poverty, implemented sustainable energy practices, or invested in initiatives that promote the use of clean energy sources.
Sustainable Partnerships & Institutions category of the SDG
Brand Champion Awards is a recognition of outstanding
efforts and initiatives that promote sustainable development
through the establishment of strong partnerships and
institutions. This category aims to recognize individual
organization, and partnerships that have demonstrated
excellence in promoting (SDG 16) - Peace, Justice and
Strong Institutions, as well as (SDG 17) - Partnerships for the
Goals.
The "Sustainable Partnerships & Institutions" category
recognizes initiatives that have promoted sustainable
development through collaborations between different
stakeholders, including governments, civil society organizations, private sector entities, and communities.
These initiatives should be built on the principles of
inclusivity, transparency, accountability, and participation,
and should focus on promoting equitable and sustainable
development.
Nominees in this category may have demonstrated
excellence in areas such as:

Nominees for this category may have implemented inclusive business practices, invested in programs that promote equal opportunities or created innovative solutions that reduce inequalities and promote social justice. This category recognizes the efforts made in bridging the gap between different groups of people and empowering marginalized individuals and communities toward social and economic equality.
